As we get ready to travel to France to update our Nice and the French Riviera Made Easy guide, here are a few of the fabulous towns we will be visiting.
Nice: Nice has 300 sunny days a year, important historical sights and museums, a fabulous Old Town, and great dining. We'll revisit the Matisse and Chagall museums while here.
Menton: Lovely, and somewhat sedate, Menton is on the Italian border. It doesn't always feel very French, because of its location and its large ex-pat population, but its warm climate and gorgeous setting makes it a great day trip from Nice.
Villefranche-sur-Mer: You can walk along the Mediterranean Sea to nearby Villefranche. Dine on the port at one of the splendid restaurants. A wonderful excursion from Nice.
Cannes: Glamorous Cannes is an alluring resort with nearly perfect weather. It's known for its international film festival. We'll be there during the festival, so who knows who we'll run into!
French Riviera: From St-Tropez to Monaco to La Turbie, the French Riviera is a fabulous destination.
