We've just retuned from Barcelona where a terrorist attack has hit Europe again. In 2015, we were about to leave for Paris when that city was hit by a terrorist attack.
We understand that many will not go to Europe because they will be in a constant state of fear (and that would be a terrible way to travel). Here are a few reasons why we will continue to travel to Europe.

We understand that many will not go to Europe because they will be in a constant state of fear (and that would be a terrible way to travel). Here are a few reasons why we will continue to travel to Europe.
- If we don’t go, the terrorists win. The terrorists want us to stay at home in fear. If we fail to travel, the terrorists have succeeded in one of their main goals.
- The risk of being killed by a terrorist is incredibly small. The State Department has reported that less than 300 Americans have been killed in terrorist attacks overseas in the last decade. You have a better chance of being killed by a gun in the US than by a terrorist overseas. There have been over 239 mass shootings in the US this year (gunviolemcearchive.org).
- Europe is in a heightened state of security. Yes, there can be additional attacks by terrorists, but Europe has upped security in most popular destinations.
- Europe has so much to offer. If art is your passion, there’s the Louvre in Paris, the world’s largest—and greatest—art museum. If eating and drinking in a festive atmosphere is more to your liking, you’ve got Madrid’s tapas bars. And if you’re a history buff, you can take a thought-provoking stroll along what was the Berlin Wall. You'll miss all of this if you stay at home.
